“The best feeling is giving back to the community and its people who make you who you are”, was Promzy’s reply to what motivated Hiplife trio, VIP, to launch another Sallah Fest this year at Frankies Hotel in Nima, Monday morning.

In conjunction with EXP Ghana who specializes in experiential marketing, social marketing and brand activation, the group got some sponsors to help give this year’s Ramadan a different feeling for Muslims in Nima, Mamobi and its environs during this year’s Ramadan fasting period.

Sallah Fest last year feted over 10,000 people in the Nima and Mamobi where the award winning trio were born and raised. Hot meals, drinks and confectionaries were served to all those who cared to come enjoy the Sallah Fest with the trio and friends.

As usual, this year’s event will be hosted by ‘VIP’ as well as other friends in the industry who will help entertain Muslim youth on Eid (Sallah) day which is the climax of the project.

Speaking to Elloeny Amande, the Head of Sponsorship and Media of EXP Ghana, he revealed that this year’s Sallah Fest will also have an addition of an Iftr table on the 15day of the Ramdan month.

Also, he said his EXP Ghana and VIP in consultation with the Chiefs and Elders of the communities will identify some poor, needy and orphanages to support during the month of Ramadan. They have so far set their target on five key orphanages or groups of people to donate to.

In attendance were Hon. Dr Avalon, the Chief of Nima, Nii Futa, the Fulani Chief, Nuhu Masina, Seidu Louis, the Zamarima Chief among a host of others. Nii Futa in his speech was full of praise to the group. He prayed for Allah’s mercy to see through every dream of the organizers so the successes they chalk serves as a great motivation for others to replicate it across other Muslim Communities.

“I hope the synergy and communal togetherness in this project just like the spirit of Ramadan will make all Muslim communities better. Once again, we in the community will volunteer our time and support in making Sallah Fest 2013 a huge success.”

This year’s Sallah Fest was made possible by the generosity of Vodafone Ghana, Frytol from Wilmar Africa Limited, Coca-Cola, Maggi from Nestle as well as Indomie and Tasty Tom.
