Mim (B/A), Nov. 4, GNA - Kwame Bio, a 26-year-old employee of Ayum Forest Products, a timber company at Mim in the Asunafo District of Brong Ahafo has been chopped into pieces by a veneer machine he was operating.

The incident happened at about 2200 hours on October 28 and he has since been buried.

A co-worker, Mohammed Mamprusi, told Ghana News Agency (GNA) that Bio's partner with whom he operated the veneer machine, collapsed at the sight of his colleague's mangled body and only regained consciousness at the hospital the following day.

The GNA heard that Bio worked that night bare-chested, to avoid the machine drawing him by the shirt.

Veteran workers of the Company told GNA that a similar accident occurred in the same department 10 years ago when the company was under the management of Mim Timber Company.
