Veteran actress Grace Nortey ‘can’t walk’

Veteran actress Grace Nortey is currently on admission at the Medical Department of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

A close family relation, who is attending to her at the Hospital, said that Aunty Grace Nortey has been on admission for almost two weeks now. She is, however, responding to treatment, the relation, who spoke on anonymity, said.

She could not disclose the sickness Grace Nortey is battling with.

“Doctors are working around the clock to get her fit again with series of medical tests”.

Grace Nortey, who is on a sick bed while speaking in a telephone interview, said: “I can’t walk now, but I’m responding to treatment”.

The veteran actress was widely known and accepted by Ghanaians in the 1990s and starred in movies like Lost Hope, Dza Gbele, Idikoko’s Matters of the Heart “Sekina”, Expectations, Jewels, Juju, among others.

Aunty Grace Nortey was seen in movies playing the character of a quarrelsome woman, the hard type who will not allow herself to be bullied by anybody.

Some of the contemporaries of Grace Nortey threw a surprise birthday party for her She acted with veterans like Grace Omaboe (Maame Dokono), Victor Lutterodt, Late George Williams, Nat Banini, Mac Jordan Amartey, Brew Riverson Jnr, Emmanuel Amarh just to mention a few.
