With two seasons pinned tightly below its belt, The One Show – Viasat 1’s flagship entertainment show has begun its Third Season. In this installment, The One Show explores a plethora of people, places and various elements of life, intricately bordered by themes. Against the backdrop of these themes, hosts, PY Addo – Boateng and Joselyn Dumas take The One Show viewers through socially relevant topics.

Some elements in Season III of The One Show are live cooking, acoustic music, discovery of fresh new Ghanaian talent, and insights on how many initiatives can be geared towards impacting the various facets of “Ghana life”.

With the stage light dimming on the end of Season 2 came a new life for The One Show in its entirety. “ We discovered that we opened new ways of exploring the rich Culture of Africa – not only Ghana – through The One Show. Here, culture is translated into real issues that Ghanaians face everyday, trends that catapult Ghana to the forefront of Africa’s fashion and entertainment scenes. Real people who have stories to tell that may change a life or two. Topped off with Real feedback that always makes every episode more and more relevant to Ghana as we go along “ comments Viasat 1 CEO, Rune Skogeng.

Season III of The One Show is a quest to broaden the scope and reach of the show which was initially female skewed. “We had some fantastic African icons passing through our studios in Season II – we had Ghanaian female rap artiste Tiffany, Afro-neo-soul diva Efyah, Afro-pop star Easy, Actress Yvonne Okoro, Actor Adjetey Annang passing through. We call them African icons because they are making headway on the African entertainment scene. Interestingly, they each came with a moving story to tell! We juxtaposed this with every day Ghanaians who also told stories that moved viewers emotionally, mentally and even sometimes financially. Ultimately our aim is to show that The One Show is about anyone and everyone who becomes an important part of Ghana’s society in their own way,” says Ama K Abebrese, Head of Own Productions of Viasat 1.

Season III of the One Show simplifies life, with a touch of glamour. On any given episode, it may swivel from being entertainment focused to a more mature approach, including discussing political and socio-economic issues. Season III of The One Show is versatile, which will be gender, age and taste inclusive!

The One Show airs every day from Monday – Thursday at 5:30pm and produced by Modern African Productions Ltd (MAP).
