The Ghana born Fashionista and international model, Victoria Michaels on Saturday, 6th of September, 2014, was awarded with the Outstanding Achievement Award at the plush La Palm Beach Hotel, Accra at the maiden edition of the Fashion Icon Awards. The event was a memorable one of glitz & glamour, with focus on the celebration of icons behind the promotion of African fashion in Ghana.
The international model won the award for her outstanding performances on and off the runway; her hard work, her versatility and humanitarian exploits across the continent among other criteria pitched her tops among her peers to be recognised by the organizers. This same reason saw her picked up the ‘Potential super model of the Year award’ earlier this year at the All Africa Media Networks Awards in Accra, Ghana.
Victoria while picking her awards said, “I must say that I am glad beyond immense measures that the organizers awarded me with this adorable plaque.”
Victoria has earned herself, over the years, international recognition as well as deals as brand Ambassador for international organisations such as for Bel- AQUA, Ariels Spa, Ghana @ 50 Gold show, the House Model for Artdress by the late Fashion legend Kofi Ansah, BBC African Fashion Week, Dubai Fashion Week, FIMA Fashion Week, Dark & Lovely Hair Fashion Show.
She has also featured on Oh! Yes Magazine, FIMA Magazine, Da Viva, Print ads for Agricultural Development Bank, Woodin, MTN, Cover for Ghana’s 2006 Presidential diary, TV commercials for MTN, Nescafe, Woodin, Social media campaign for Vodaphone alongside renowned artistes like; D’Banj and Sarkodie.
Expressing her gratitude to the organizers of the event and her how blessed Africa is as far as fashion is concerned, she said, “I must say that this award comes as a booster to the attestation that models in Ghana are being watched. I must say that I shall keep putting the name of Ghana high on the world map. The fashion industry is a blessed industry and I am happy to be part of it from Africa. From this continent, we have virtually everything a country can wish for when it comes to fashion. I applaud the organizers for such an initiative in Ghana. I hope that this event will grow from strength to strength in coming years. This is for my esteem fans that have been there for me through the years. Thank you.”
