It was all nostalgic and touching at the maiden edition of the “Legends and Legacy Ball” concert on Saturday November 12, 2011 at the Accra International conference Centre, when the living legend, Daddy Lumba was celebrated and honoured. Among the several dignitaries who graced the historic event were former President Jerry John Rawlings, his wife, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings and former President John Agyekum Kuffour.

The event brought lots of unity and love between the two first families from two opposing political parties. Even their sitting arrangement said it all. Mr. and Mrs. Rawlings were seated on the the right, Daddy in the middle with Kufour and his special aide on the left. The two spoke and laughed together in the full glare of the over 2000 audience.

When the ‘mad’ man Kwaw Kesse took his turn on stage to perform, he commended the unity and statesmanship the two former Presidents exhibited on the night. He shook hands with both of them, thanked them and insisted that Rawlings and Kufour shook hands. The two stood face to face and shook hands and the crowd could not help but scream and clap.

Daddy Lumba expressed his excitement and thanked the two former Presidents for setting a good example for the younger generation. “This cannot happen anywhere except at Daddy Lumba’s show - I am so happy and I thank you all for coming” - Lumba said on stage before he performed his last song “Anadwo yede”.
