Nina, a level 400 student who doubles as the female captain of the Goal Ball Team in the University of Ghana, got blind at age 11.

In an exclusive interview with GhanaWeb.com, she expressed her fulfilment over the letter she wrote to the actress; describing her response to her as “bully.”

She said such untoward response will not deter her from continuing to renewing Bibi Bright’s mind and others like her who needs to be educated on issues with disability.

Nina, sharing her childhood experience in an emotional tone said she missed the visuals she used to cherish when she wasn’t blind.

“As am blind now, I now appreciate all the colors, and all the beauty in all the cartoons and the films I used to watch.”

Adding that people who can see or do not have any disability should value what they have. Most importantly, don’t despise those with a disability because “anything can happen to human beings in life”.

“Some people think, it’s just a saying when they say ‘Obi nya w’aye’ but they don’t know it’s real and true. You will never know the value of what you have until you lose it.

“Anything can happen to human beings in life… As in the University of Ghana, I know a few people who have lost their sight, even at level 400 and had to start all over again.”

Growing up as a child, it was her dream to be a Lawyer.
