The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) says it is working on announcing minimum wage standards for the music industry.

To this end, MUSIGA will engage with the various stakeholders in the music industry to arrive at the minimum wage standards.

The Union is also working on an insurance and pension plan for its members. These were some of the issues considered at the annual retreat organized by MUSIGA for its national executives and directors.

The President of MUSIGA, Bice Osei Kuffour, tasked the newly appointed directors to work assiduously to ensure that the interests and needs of the various genres and departments they represent are adequately catered for over the four year term of the National Executive Committee.

The meeting reviewed the annual plan of the Union which covers the entire operations of the Union from the national to regional levels as well as the functioning of the various Directors of the genres and departments.

Some of the members present at the retreat were the 1st and 2nd Vice Presidents Bessa Simons and Rev. Dr. Thomas Yawson, National Organizer.
