There was a section of netizens who also questioned the necessity of the luncheon, especially when the country is in a poor economic state.

While the last group of people lamented the lack of visionary and empathetic leaders in the country.

Founders' Day is a national public holiday observed to commemorate the contributions of all the people, notably the ‘Big Six’ who led the struggle for Ghana's independence.

The day is commemorated every August 4.
