Mr. Asare Otchere-Darko, a nephew of the “ailing” 2012 Presidential Candidate of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Williams Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo and a leading member of the Akyem mafia in the NPP, has revealed to close confidants that they (the Akyem faction) have been ordered to attack Dr. Charles Wereko-Brobbey, a.k.a. Tarzan.

Gabby is said to have told friends that “Dr. Wereko-Brobbey’s statement seems to be getting down well with the NPP supporters, so the earlier he is dealt with, the better it will be for the party, particularly, when the party is in court contesting the result of the 2012 general election.

One such methods, is to peddle information that he (Wereko-Brobbey) is not a member of the NPP”

However, in an interview on Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana Programme, Dr. Charles Wereko-Brobbey insisted that he is a member of the NPP, saying “when I contested for the chairmanship of the NPP in 2012, I was cleared to contest because I was a member, bona-fide member. For those alleging that I am not a member of the NPP, they were in baby napkins when I became a member”; he suggests. He also advised the NPP to shred itself of the pro-Akan-twi image.
