Ghanaian hiplife musician, Reggy Zippy has revealed to Hitz Entertainment News that he, and group mate Bollie, are coming back into the music scene full-time.
In an interview with Doreen Avio, the ‘Adoma’ hit-maker said they are “coming back full-time into music not just in the UK but also in Ghana.”
This comes after reports that Reggy Zippy and Bollie have formed a group known as MENN on Poinnt and auditioned for the hit reality TV show, Britain’s Got Talent.
Reggy, who has been off the scene for a couple of years now, said the purpose for forming the group is to relaunch their career and also to lead a movement for the youth.
“The union is not just for singing, it is going to be more of a movement for young men who try to make it in the face of adversity,” he explained.
He made clear the reason behind their participation in the talent show saying, “We thought that instead of waiting to release our album there are certain opportunities here in the UK so we will give it a shot, that was how come we went on to audition for Britain’s Got Talent.”
According to him, “Back home in Ghana we always talk about wanting to expand our territory and making it big on the international stage and already we have got artistes like Fuse ODG who is making it big for Ghana in the UK, so we felt like the room is there for us to go out there and make ourselves known.”
When asked about the future of the group, MENN on Poinnt, Reggy said “The agreement we had with the management is that, we are going to do this album and some more will follow but no one will be restricted.”
He shared his view on the outcome of the competition so far. “It’s really looking good so we have to keep our fingers crossed.”
“If it goes through for us that is a win for Ghana because all we want to do is to do our country proud and create room or platform for other artistes,” he concluded.
Reggy Zippy is popularly known for his hit songs ‘Adoma’ and ‘Virgin’ while Bollie is also known widely for ‘You May Kiss The Bride’.
MENN on Poinnt has released a couple of singles including ‘Turn It Up’ and ‘Celebrate’.
