Adom TV’s sponsorship of the meet and greet dinner between fans of their hit series Kumkum Bhagya and the cast, has drawn mixed reactions from the entire Ghanaian media space.

The event, inspired by TV3’s pioneering move to bring fans and the cast of a favorite telenovela together was well received years ago, and Adom TV has followed suit, fulfilling their promise to bring the popular Indian series’ cast to their beloved patrons.

The host of the after-episode talk of the series, Tima Yeboah on Friday morning, however threw jabs at their competitor TV station, UTV who apparently failed to honor their promise to organize such a meet and greet for their own telenovela a few years ago.

It will be recalled that UTV was the first begin the Akan-language after show discussions of their telenovelas, starting with the popular ‘Wild at Heart’ telenovela which the audience had begun calling ‘Maricruz’ because of its main character.

In 2014, rumors emerged that the station was planning to bring the cast of the telenovela to Ghana to meet with the large fan base that had already developed in the country.

Nothing was ever confirmed and the people moved on to the next telenovela that was aired after ‘Maricruz’ ended.

In an Instagram video on Friday, Tima Kumkum and a colleague who were visibly excited at the cast of Kumkum Bhagya coming to Ghana, rained praises on Adom TV for making it possible.
