Ghanaian urban gospel trio, preachers, have revealed that they are the only well paid urban gospel artistes in Ghana due to their hard work compared to their colleagues.
Obed Psych, a member of the group explained that it is difficult for them to play free shows due to their hard work and they are urging their colleagues to work very hard in order to maintain a certain standard for themselves and their brands so that they can be accepted by Ghanaians. www.flexgh.com can confirm this.
The gospel trio, made up of three members, Obed Psych, Emani Beats and Edmund Baidoo, have released their latest studio album titled Level Up and they think it is time for them to take the urban gospel genre to a different level to gain more recognition throughout the country and on the international market.
The Crazy for God hit makers stated that their initial plan was to sit back and throw their support to others as founders or leaders of urban gospel genre in Ghana’s music industry. But through prayers, God revealed to them to come back and continue with what they couldn’t finish.
They continued to say they feel urban gospel is now doing well in Ghana’s music circle as compared to those days. According to him, when urban gospel started in Ghana, many people were confused about the genre and it was very difficult for them to accept it, but now with God’s grace and much more hard work from urban gospel artistes, the youth and old people are now paying attention to the genre.
Moreover, they also believe when they collaborate with the old names in the gospel music industry, they can get the love and appreciation from Christians and the general public, so they are calling on their colleagues to do more collaboration with those people to push and support the work of God.
Meanwhile, the biggest challenge facing them is that, radio presenters and Disc Jockeys find it difficult to play their kind of songs with the secular Hip Hop songs anytime they are working on their playlist. They believe it will help their fraternity if they (Disc Jockeys) are able to do that.
They finally appealed to their colleague urban gospel artistes to record and produce more international standard songs which will make people accept their works. They also admonished them to work hard so as to gain the necessary recognition from people.
