Gospel 360, a gospel entertainment show on Accra FM has threatened never to promote or play songs by any artiste signed on Media Excel Production owned by Kwasi Ernest.
Producers of the show came into conclusion after Kwasi Ernest walked his artiste, Abena Ruthy, off their studio on Sunday, January 22 when they visited the Class Media Group-owned station to promote their album launch slated for January 29 at the National Theater. Papa Richy who spoke to Zionfelix about their new directive on Radio Univers in Accra described the boss of Media Excel Production’s act as undesirable and unnecessary.
According to him, the CEO of the record label disrespected the show, host, and listeners when he walked his artiste out when they had not finished the interview. The producer of the show stated that they have the right to run the show how they want it so they expected Abena Ruthy and his manager to dance to their tune rather than getting angry when they decided to interview a Nigerian musician.
To him, achieving the aim of the show at the end of the day is the utmost thing but not how the purpose will be achieved. Papa Richie asked Kwasi Ernest to apologise to the host, producers, and listeners of Gospel 360 else they will never promote any artiste from Media Excel Production.
“Even if he did not respect us, what about our listeners. Was this an issue that should warrant a walkout? Whatever we did for the artiste was for free so if you decide not to respect the relationship we have with you and you decide to take us for a ride, then its bad.
For me I feel it was a pure direspect to us.We want an apology from him and until that is done, I say this as producer of the show that there will be nothing from Media Excel on our show.
Whatever we did for them was out of the relationship but if you don’t respect host of the show, producers and our listeners then we have to draw the lines.” angry Richie told Zionfelix.
When asked if the blacklist will affect SP Kofi Sarpong, Joyce Blessing, Bernice Offei, Louisa and other artistes signed on Media Excel Production, he answered, “he is their head so we expected him to know better. We are not asking SP Kofi Sarpong Joyce Blessing, Louisa or artistes on the record label to apologise to us but Kwasi Ernest himself for this issue to be resolved.”
Abena Ruthy signed on Media Excel Production launches her second album, “Higher Praise” on Sunday, January 29 at the National Theater in Accra.
