A lot of altercation has ensued between the management of Flowking Stone and George Quaye after the just ended 2015 edition of Tigo Music Unplugged which took place at Kumasi.
News Hunter Magazine has learned that rapper, Flowking Stone and his entourage did not reached at the event venue as scheduled — and that resulted into some changes by the organizers to give him a different time to perform.
“It’s unfortunate he wasn’t allowed to perform for too long,” a source confirmed to News Hunter magazine.
Giving a detailed account on what really happened; CEO/Manager of Bradez and Rapfam Entertainment, Ahmed Kwame Boachie posited that some of their saboteurs were at work on that night to undermine the image of their brand.
“The key clause in the contract was that Flowking Stone will be performing for one hour or more. Also the only person mandated to cut his performance or the show was the stage coordinator, who happens to be George Quaye. But what happened was that George pronounced that we didn’t arrive on time so he won’t allow Flowking to perform,” he told DJ Murphy Lee on Entertainment Extra on Sunyani-based Metro FM.
He added: “But he (George Quaye) being the producer of Tigo Unplugged was supposed to attend to artists arrival, their transportation to hotel, press conference-press conference back to hotel, then from hotel the next day to sound check-from sound check back to the hotel, then finally to the show night— and all these things was refereed and coordinated by Aboagye, everybody was working beneath his directives,” he narrated.
Speaking on their late arrival, Ahmed Kwame Boachie said; “Could you believe that the vehicle that was assigned to pick us from the hotel delayed for more than two hours. So I don’t think they should blame us for the late arrival…Later when we got in touch with the driver, he said once he is working he needs to eat.”
“I realized it’s kinda sabotage if there’s show not coming on. Kumasi is our abode—from 1993 that they hoarded the awards, it’s here that the foundation was laid. It will be a waste of time if the foundation collapses—and everything fall apart,” he lamented.
“So quickly, I arranged for a personal car, quickly contacted Mark and push for a VIP car so that we can use that car to go there—and the other thing was that traffic was stack at that night. Unfortunately if you are not in a VIP car, I don’t think you will be escorted. So looking at all this stress and Aboagye telling us that we can’t perform because our time is pass.
“So upon the argument that was going on, Some Tigo Executives who knew what the problem was, came in…pushed Aboagye to the wall, and push for a time for us to perform—and even that, he was interrupting the performance by signaling us that our time has elapse. He is always trying to push us down but we are not going to allow him anymore.
