Ho, Feb. 23 (Awumah) GNA-About 55 guests at a wedding party in Ho, last Saturday were rushed to the Volta Regional Hospital with severe diarrhoea, vomiting and abdominal pains, Dr Geoffrey Nyamuame, Medical Superintendent of the Hospital told the Ghana News Agency in an interview on Monday.
He however, declined to identify the bride and the bridegroom saying, the victims had since been treated and discharged. Dr Nyamuame said the cause of the ailment could not be determined as the hospital was not able to obtain samples of the meat pie and fried rice, which were served at the party for laboratory analysis.
An official of the hospital, who wants to remain anonymous, advised the public to be careful about what they eat and drink at public functions.
