“Before Westerners will hail you, you should have done alot or you’re unique… Westerners don’t just hail anyone, so If you’re not good and you’re forcing with the talent then no one will support you so such people will say Takoradi people don’t support their own,” Kofi Kinaata.
Member of the High Grade Family, Martin King-Arthur popularly known as Kofi Kinaata says Westerners value their own people a lot in the showbiz industry most importantly when they exhibit an outstanding talent.
The 2016 VGMA Best New Artist of the Year made this claim when speaking with Kasapa Entertainment host, Kojo Preko Dankwa on Saturday.
However, veteran artiste, Amy Newman told the host that Westerners value performers from outside the region than their own but Kofi Kinaata doesn’t agree with that.
“It’s a lie, when we talk about the Region that value their own it’s Westerners… For Westerners forget even when you organise a show in Takoradi and you bring someone from outside they will hoot at the artiste because they want their own artistes.”
Western Region can boast of musicians like Castro, Pappy Kojo, Nero X, Kofi Kinaata, TeePhlow, Amy Newman, Pastor Joe Beecham, Helena Rhabbles, Kofi Owusu Dua Anto (KODA)others who are making their people proud.
