What are Ghanaians doing about Wutah's comeback? - Paa Kwesi of Dobble fame

Indeed music duo, Wutah’s separation caused a lot of heartbreak to a bunch of music lovers who over the years pleaded for their come back.

Same has happened to cruising hit makers Dobble whose separation as well has left a huge vacuum in the hearts of their loved ones and are also being called for a comeback.

Finally music duo, Wutah has had the comeback industry people were hoping for and over the weekend in an interview, they asked Dobble to look at their example and get back again. This statement, Paa Kwasi, a member of the defunct group Dobble, has stated, comes across as a good thing especially from Wutah but has raised another concern.

“Everybody was calling Wutah to come back, now that they are here, what’s happening? What are Ghanaians doing about it? They kept screaming their comeback, now they are here; are people yearning to see and craving for Wutah? No. I’m praying for them that it becomes a successful one that when they came, Ghanaians accepted them and Wutah has again become a household name and not the other way round,” Paa said.

What about Dobble? As to whether a comeback should happen now or later, Paa Kwasi says he can’t tell. He claims, he was left alone when the group was at its peak and therefore cannot wait for the other to go round about and later ask of a comeback. He says what he does now suits him well as according to him, he is doing ‘him’ which is what he really loves to do and he thinks it makes sense when one tows what he is passionate about. But in as much as he loved what he was when he was Dobble, he doesn’t miss the group.

“For now it’s just me and the new brand and what I’m trying to achieve as a highlife artiste. I love what I’m doing now and I think both of us are trying to push ourselves there ever since we had the split. And so far, it has been so good in less than a year. I love the fact that, even where I am now, there’s not much pressure and I’m trying as much as possible to be part of history; those who pushed it to that level when people thought it was dying. But I can’t say yes or no as to our comeback because it hasn’t happened and if it does happen, we will know what to do,” he added.

Paa Kwasi continued that, when a group splits and a member releases a song, people say, if they were to be a group it would have been better. But looking at Wutah’s comeback as a case study, it’s never true. He said Dobble could release about three to five songs before one picks up and this means, when groups are no more, it will take a couple of songs before there is a breakthrough. Sometimes people leave and it works for them, others don’t work whiles some after their comeback become a total destruction.

“I know it hurts, Ghanaians will definitely call for a comeback but you need to make decisions for yourself. When I’m making people happy whilst am not, it doesn’t make sense. I need to be happy so it transcends to others” He concluded.
