I see him as a combination of Mr. Black and Alhaji Ahmed. He has the spitting power that can match that of Alhaji Ahmed and itchy fingers for turntables like the crack turntablist Mr. Black.

He started as a newscaster on Radio Universe in the year 1999 under the influence of his uncle Tim Quarshigah of Unique FM and brother Richard Quarshigah of G.B.C whilst in the University of Ghana-Legon.

He was sometimes tagged up with mixmaster Mr. Black who was then at Radio Universe and Nana Ama Acquah (former presenters of ?Weekend Teaser?).  ?When Black left, I was assessed by the then news editor, Francis Ankrah but now of Hot Issues Fame on TV3. I was really happy when I was told I was now going to present Weekend Teaser? he said. Who are we talking about? It is no other person than the great Albert Quarshigah.

He was born to Retired C.P.O Augustine Olympio Quarshigah and Mrs. Theresa Quarshigah in Takoradi in the 70?s but grew up in Accra. He hails from Keta in the Volta Region.

The young dude had his elementary education at Teshie Nungua Estates and then left for Lincoln J.S.S. In 1995, he proceeded to Aggrey Memorial Senior Secondary School and in 1999 he was admitted into the University of Ghana-Legon.

Whilst presenting ?Weekend Teaser?, he was sometimes co-presenting a programme by name ?Lominava? with Godfred Laryea now of Joy FM. ?I was also doing the ?Newspaper Review? because Alhaji Ahmed of Radio Universe realised my political interest and really wanted me to do it since I had the flair to argue points out? he added.

In his second year in school, he started hosting other programmes like ?Gospel Showers?, ?Comfort Zone?, ?Campus Exclusive? and ?Bosoe?.

With time, he became attached to only ?Weekend Teaser? (the remarkable entertainment programme) because he really loved showbiz. ?Weekend Teaser? really brought him into the lime light.

The listeners could not help it when great artistes like Buk Bak, Lord Kenya, VIP, Kwadee, Kontihene, 4x4 and lots more were interviewed on his programme. He said this during the interview: ?I interviewed most of the prolific hiplife and highlife artistes with the exception of Daddy Lumba and Amakye Dede for various reasons. Let me tell you the reason why. They were normally not in town. I could not get them to come on my programme since they were most of the time out of town. I really wanted to interview these big artistes?.

To your surprise, he is no more at Radio Universe. When he was asked why he left Radio Universe, he answered ?I wanted to find myself in another working environment?.

Albert Quarshigah who became a model in his first year in school has worked with famous designers like MKOGH and Tetteh Plaha. He has also trained most girls like Thelma Tawiah (emerged the winner for Miss Malaika Ghana) and Gwen Gyimah who contested for Miss Malaika Ghana and most models.

The once General Prefect on duty in Aggrey, captain of the Future Stars colt team and Zonal Organizing Secretary of the Catholic Students Union for Central Region said he has missed the friendly environment in Radio Universe due to the fact that he had a good human relation with Alhaji Ahmed.

?I have missed all the guys and girls I was working with? he added. His last words were ?I am grateful to God for giving me this talent. I thank my father, brothers, Alhaji Ahmed, Bola Ray, Mr. Black, Kweku Baako, Dr. Agyenim, Godfred Laryea, Carl Tuffuor, Adu Nyarko, Angel, Oduro Kwarteng, Ebenezer Affum (producer of ?Weekend Teaser?) who has helped me in diverse ways and the entire Universe crew. Ebenezer, keep up the good work. I want to tell the public that I have just tapped a little of my talent. There are more things to come?.

I guess you out there are wondering where he is working now, aren?t you? Well he has been employed at the newly established radio station by name Ci?Cit?Citi?Citi FM. He can be reached on 233 27 7454151.

I really miss Friday afternoons with Albert Quarshigah holding the programme ?Weekend Teaser? on Radio Universe.
