Vincent Ekow Assafuah, the Member of Parliament for the Old Tafo constituency, has explained that Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party flagbearer, was so impressed by King Paluta's song 'Aseda' that he invited the artiste to sing with him.

He detailed that the Vice President's decision to sing with King Paluta on the bus was driven by his deep admiration for the song.

The MP added that despite the vice president's unfamiliarity with the lyrics, his attempts to join in the singing brought him joy and satisfaction.

Speaking with Johnny Hughes on 3FM, Ekow Assafuah emphasized that the 'Aseda' hit is one of the NPP flagbearer's favourite songs.

“I think Paluta was probably proud to have the vice president choose his song and show the Ghanaian people that it's a song he loves. When the song [Aseda] played, I could see the happiness on his face.

"I was standing very close to him and realized that he [Bawumia] loved the lyrics. He couldn’t sing it well, so I helped him. I sang along with him. You could see he loved the song by his movements and expression,” he said.

This statement follows the release of a video showing King Paluta participating in campaign events with Vice President Bawumia.

The video, which quickly went viral, captured King Paluta performing his hit song 'Aseda' with the vice president on a bus tour in the Ashanti Region.

In response to criticism, King Paluta defended his actions, stating that accepting the vice president's invitation was not an issue and labeling critics as 'empty-headed.'

However, his comments sparked a significant public backlash.
