Months after actors Eddie Nartey and Toosweet Annan engaged in a misunderstanding with the Police on their way to Aburi, the latter has come out to explain why the bad scene happened.
The handsome Ghanaian actor in an interview with Zionfelix.com said the incident happened when they were shooting a road trip for a Verdant Media produced movie “Royal Diadem”.
"Well the movie we were shooting had a road trip scene so we decided to use the Aburi road. Getting to the police barrier we were asked to pack.
The police officer then walked to us and asked for my driver’s license and walked off. I then came down from the truck I was using for the scene including Eddie Nartey (Director), Sammy Tuger (DOP), Efia Odo, Christian Brown (Executive Producer), Enoch Attakorah (Producer) and the other crew members.
I then walked up to him explaining that the truck I am driving is for the movie we shooting and that my license is in my own car.
He ignored and I went to stand aside and started talking to the Executive Producer and the producer, telling them the officer ignored me and he was attending to other people and that we also losing the day light.
He then started yelling asking what I am saying with my people and that if I misbehave he will teach me a lesson”.
This threat by the police to teach the actor a lesson if he misbehaves annoyed the him. "That’s when I got angry asking him what can he do to me".
After exchanging words with the police, Toosweet added that other officials on duty on the day came to his rescue after they explained their situation to them. Then the other officers came around asking what the problem was So as I was explaining to them, another officer came and asked why he stopped us because as he can see we having a shoot so he should let us go and stop delaying us.
That’s how come we were able to leave the barrier to finish the shoot The movie Royal Diadem directed by Eddie Nartey features Toosweet Annan, Christabel Ekeh, James Gardiner, Kofi Adjorlolo, David Dontoh with EFYA ODO.
The movie premieres on Friday, August 7 at Silverbirds Cinema at the Accra and West Hills Mall.
