President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Bice Osei Kufour, widely known as Obour has stated that the union did not visit OJ Blaq at the time he was admitted to the Korle Bu hospital because the hiplife artiste is not a member of the union.

According to Obour, MUSIGA as a body caters for the welfare of its members only. He mentioned that musicians are not default members of the union and as such, one has to be a registered member before such gestures can be made.

Obour however noted that he visited OJ Blaq at the hospital in his personal capacity.

“MUSIGA has rules and regulations. Even though it is there for musicians, it focuses on the welfare of members. So how we deal with members is different from those who are not members. When OJ Blaq was admitted, I went there in my personal capacity. It was the very day he was being discharged. From there, I moved to Obrafour’s end. I went as a friend; not MUSIGA president. It’s only members of the union whose welfare is catered for,” he said on Peace FM’s Entertainment Review, Thursday after OJ Blaq on the same platform answered in the negative a question posed to him by host, Kwame Agyetia on whether MUSIGA visited him at the hospital or not.

OJ Blaq was recently hospitalised after being diagnosed with double kidney failure.

Earlier, abrantepa.com reported that the artiste is asking all and sundry to say a prayer for him as that is what he needs most.

Bearded OJ Blaq became famous for his role in TV series, Sun City. He was later signed by Lynx Entertainment where he released hit tracks such as Chale Wote, Joley, Me Wo Mmaa and Target.

He has resolved to give his life to Christ and now propagate the gospel through music.
