Media personality and Public Relations Officer for Stonebwoy, Vida Adutwumwaa Boateng, has explained why the dancehall artiste did not perform at the scheduled 10 PM time during his recent show.
Speaking during a discussion on a podcast on January 1, 2026, Vida disclosed that challenges with ticket redemption compelled the artiste to delay his performance to be fair to fans who were still outside the venue.
According to her, as late as 3 AM, many patrons were still at the gates attempting to redeem their tickets.
“Around 3 AM, people were still at the gate trying to redeem their tickets. It’s part of the reason Stonebwoy couldn’t perform at 10 PM as he assured,” she said.
Vida explained that although the artiste and his team were ready early, beginning the show at 10 pm would have resulted in the event stretching into the next morning due to the heavy line-up.
“We were ready very early and looking at the event line-up, if we should start the show at 10 pm, we would still close the next morning,” she stated.
She disclosed that the main challenge arose from last-minute ticket purchases, which caused the ticketing system to jam.
“We heard people had challenges when they were trying to redeem their tickets. Because everyone was trying to buy the tickets last minute, the system jammed. Some people were also in my DMs complaining but I told them to go to Parliament House to redeem their tickets there,” she noted.
According to Vida, Stonebwoy was fully aware of the situation and felt it would be unfair to perform while many ticket holders were still outside the venue.
She stated that the artiste decided to wait so that affected fans could gain access and enjoy the full performances.
“Stonebwoy was worried and he knew about the difficulties in the ticket redemption so if he began the show at 10, while some people were outside, it wouldn’t be fair to them.

“He decided to wait a bit longer so that they wouldn’t feel left out after buying the ticket or they wouldn’t get to watch him perform, meanwhile that’s why they used their money to buy the tickets,” she explained.
Vida further explained that personnel were deployed to monitor the situation and assess whether the ticketing challenges were being resolved gradually.
“We had people on the grounds who were monitoring to see if the issues were being resolved gradually. I actually campaigned for people to buy the tickets early to prevent all these challenges, so, it’s those who bought it at the last minute who faced the challenges.
“We were working with the system and anything could have happened; that’s why Stonebwoy decided to wait so that they would be able to get the complete show,” she added.
She also urged Ghanaians to buy tickets early to avoid similar problems in the future.
“We will urge Ghanaians that when we begin selling the tickets, they should buy them early to avoid the internet being jammed,” she advised.
She also cautioned fans against sharing or posting their ticket details online, noting that such actions could lead to ticket fraud.
“Some people also get too excited after buying their tickets, then they show it to someone or post online to show they’ve bought their ticket and someone can go and redeem it. When you get to the venue to redeem the ticket, you will be told that the ticket has been redeemed already and you will think the problem was from us,” she explained.
Vida apologised to fans who experienced difficulties and assured them that their complaints and suggestions had been documented for improvement in future events.
“Anyone who had issues redeeming their tickets, I’m pleading on behalf of Stonebwoy that it wasn’t intentional. We’ve taken all suggestions on board and we will consider them next year,” Vida added.
