After several concerns raised by a lot of Ghanaians on the absence of some popular “Twi Movie” (Kumawood) actors and actresses from the nominees list of this year’s Ghana Movie Awards and with calls for Kumawood actors and actresses to pull out of the event, concerns have started pouring in.

Frank Ntiamoah Badu, a nominee for the Most Promising Star and Discovery of the year Category in the Kumawood Akoben (KAM) Movie Awards 2013 has expressed disappointment over the nominations.

He stated that actresses such as Nana Ama McBrown, Emelia Brobbey and Vivian Jill deserved to be nominated for their incessant hard work throughout the year.

The nominee at the KAM Awards further stated that the Ghana Movie Awards industry players should not over look the impact of movies that are done in the Local Language (Twi), because some are very good and also reminded that the “Twi movies” saved the industry when Nigerian movies took over some years back.

Frank has starred in about 4 movies (Chop my money, Heat, Oh Vera, Odo) and hopes to win at least one award in the Kumawood Akoben Movie Awards on 27th of December 2013 at the True Vine Hotel Kumasi.
