Inspector Christopher Tawiah, Brong Ahafo Regional Police Public Relations Officer, told Ghana News Agency that on June 28 Mr Ohene-Essel and two other persons sent a bowl of stew to the Sunyani District Police station to lodge a complaint that his wife had served him with poisoned food. He said Mr Ohene-Essel told the Police that just as he was about to eat the food the wife had served, he had a strong urge that there was something wrong with it so he invited the wife to taste it first. In an apparent bluff, Madam Essel ate part of the stew, but no sooner had she eaten than she started to complain of acute stomachache and to vomit. She was rushed to the Sunyani Government Hospital, where she was admitted, Inspector Tawiah said. He said Police investigations were going on.
