Hot on the heels of her sold-out show at the +233 Jazz bar and Grill in Accra last week, Wiyaala is now in Germany rehearsing for her next concert on Saturday 3rd October at the Kampnagel in Hamburg.

The busy songstress from the Upper West who has made strides this year establishing herself as a credible force on the international scene following recent performances at the Afrikadey festival in Canada and The Hague African festival in Holland, says she is not done yet and hopes to announce another international appearance before the end of the year.

Wiyaala’s performance at the Kampnagel will be the climax of the two week “We Don’t Contemporary” Arts Festival which also features fellow Ghanaian DJ Steloo who will get the party rocking later in the evening.

The highlight of the festival, which includes theatre, film, dance, musical performances, exhibitions, lectures and art installations curated by Zohra Opoku, are the world famous Kora players, Toumani Diabate and Sidiki Diabate, the father and son collaboration from Mali who take centre stage on Friday 2nd October.

Kampnagel is Germany’s largest production and performance facility for national and international freelance artists and is considered to be one of Germany’s most reputable venues for the performing arts.

The former crane factory was rebuilt in 1984 into a multifunctional theatre building and each season, with its six stages, cinema and rehearsal spaces attracts over a 165.000 visitors each year.
