Woman collapses over ?30m loss

Madam Afua Nsafoah, 45, a second-hand clothes dealer, collapsed on Sunday night when her day’s sales of ?30m was snatched from her by four armed men at her Agbogbloshie home in Accra.

She was rushed to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital where she was treated and discharged the following day.

Narrating the facts of the case to The Ghanaian Times, Supt S. Yaw Amponsah, Commander of the Tesano Police Station, said that the victim returned home from the market at 8.30pm in her private car.

As she was about to open her garage, four armed men in an unregistered car emerged he said that after firing several warning shots, the armed men attacked her and made away with the money.

Supt Amponsah said that even though Madam Asafoah was not beaten by the men, she collapsed out of shock. He said no arrest had been made and the case was being investigated.
