Accra, May 18, GNA - A hairdresser, accused of squeezing the scrotum of her former husband exposing the testicles, was on Wednesday admitted to a 100 million cedis bail when she appeared at a Circuit Court in Accra.

Evelyn Mensah, the Hairdresser, pleaded not guilty to causing harm. She is to reappear on June 2.

The case as presented by Chief Inspector Darfuor was that the husband, Mr Lucky Mensah Zornyira, a Mason residing at New Ashongman Estates, was married to Evelyn for 14 years and divorced about four years ago. On April 12, 2004 at about 2200 hours Evelyn went to Mr Zornyira's house and picked up a quarrel with him without any provocation. Mr Zornyira asked Evelyn to leave his house, as most of the tenants in the house were asleep.

Prosecution said Evelyn refused and picked a shovel and attacked Mr Zornyira but some of the tenants and witnesses restrained her. Soon after, Evelyn held Mr Zornyira's genitals from behind and pulled them.

Mr Zornyira shouted for help and was rescued by witnesses. Examination of the genitals revealed that harm had been done to the scrotum exposing one of his testicles.

Prosecution said Mr Zornyira was rushed to the hospital where he was receiving treatment.
