Hundreds of women gathered in Accra over the weekend to pray for God~{!/~}s intervention to ensure free and fair elections. The event at the National Theatre was organized by Women~{!/~}s Aglow International, a Christian non-denominational group. According to the Prayer Co-ordinator of Women~{!/~}s Aglow, Gifty Afenyi-Dadies (former president of the Ghana Journalists Association) the group decided to organize the programme because they believe that only God will ensure that peace prevails before, during and after the elections. She said the women have also taken it upon themselves to intercede for the nation because they are the worst affected in times of conflict.
