Yaa Pono performs 'Obiaa Wo Ne Master' at Ghana Meets Naija 2018

The auditorium at Fantasy Dorm, Trade fair was charged with thousands of teeming fans last night Saturday, June 9, as Tema based rap giant, Yaa Pono, took the whole hall with a master-Class performance of his controversial single track titled ‘Obia Wo Ne Master'.

At a time almost everybody was down in the auditorium, Yaa Pono reignited the entire ceremony by getting everyone singing and dancing to the popular tune Obia Wo Ne Master.

Yaa Pono’s performance was unbeatably stimulating and his command on the mic was superb.

Author of multiple hits and the Faster than Gods album (2017), Yaa Pono is widely regarded “king of the underground”, and is deemed among the most versatile acts from these parts, expertly blending a range of elements: hiphop, highlife, hip hop, dancehall and Afrobeats.

Born Solomon Adu Antwi, Yaa Pono released “Obia Wone Master” when dancehall artiste Shatta Wale threw shades at Nigerian artiste Wizkid and never got a reply from him, social media user concluded that the song (Obia Wone Master) was a ridicule directed at Shatta Wale but Yaa Pono later came out to reveal that it wasn’t directed at his rival Shatta Wale.

Compered by Star FM’s DJ Vyrusky and Nii Ayi Tagoe servedd patrons with some great Ghanaian and Nigerian tunes, and also introduced artistes billed to thrill at the night. Artistes included Stonebwoy, Yaa Pono, Kuami Eugene, King Promise, Fancy Gadam, Patapaa, and others on Ghana’s side whiles Nigeria had their superstar Wizkid, Mr. Eazi, and Dice to battle for supremacy.

Over the years, the event has been known as the platform for the biggest artistes in both Ghana and Nigeria to share one stage and thrill music lovers.



Dubbed the ‘Rescue Mission’, this year’s edition saw great performances from Stonebwoy, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Shatta Wale, Dice, Fancy Gadam, Wizkid, Mr. Eazi, Mayorkun. Kuami Eugene, KiDi, Bam Star and many others.
