Socialite and TV show host, Monalisa Abigail Semeha, widely known as Mona Gucci, has clarified that she would not succumb to being bullied on social media.
In a recent interview on TV3, Mona Gucci shared that she's become accustomed to the spotlight and typically doesn't let negative comments affect her.
She acknowledged that although certain comments do get to her, she admitted that they come with the job and are to be expected.
“Maybe because I started this whole thing at an early age and I'm used to it, I don't bother. But sometimes I see certain comments and stuff, and I get emotional because I'm human, I feel bad about it.
“But that is the job, and for any job that you want to do, there are repercussions. Some will love you, and some will hate you. And it's not like I care,” she said.
Mona Gucci, however, stated that she would stand up for herself against any troll online, stating, “When I'm online and I see you, I will respond. You can't bully me. I will respond, but if I don't see it, then it's your lucky day,” she said.
She also addressed the concept of controversy, noting that it often carries a negative connotation but can have both positive and negative aspects.
“I noticed that the word itself, controversy, is like people are reading, like, some sort of bad meaning into it. The word ‘controversy’ on its own. It can be good. It can be bad,” she said.
