Ghanaian hip-hop musician Desmond Kwesi Blackmore, popularly known as D-Black, has called on fellow industry players to ignore negative comments from fans concerning their careers.

In an interview on GhanaWeb's ‘Talkertainment’ with Elsie Lamar, D-Black urged them to be passionate about everything they do.

“In anything that you do, be passionate and do it from your heart, don't let the opinion of others affect you. In this industry, without tough skin, you can't survive. If people don't talk about you, you are nobody.

"If awards and television networks demonstrate I have the best hip-hop songs, why should I care about what people who don't have a successful career in the industry are saying?” he said.

D-Black also applauded rapper Omar Sterling of R2Bees for his unique style of music and his immense contribution to the creative arts industry.

"I think Omar Sterling is an incredible rapper, I look at some of the greatest people in showbiz and they receive such negative criticisms, so I think it's normal if normal."
