We knew the trolls will start their work moments after the nominees for this year’s BET awards were announced. Shatta Wale surprisingly missed out, plus other Ghanaian artists.
People are wondering why the SM boss’ name did not pop up on the list after revealing sometime ago that BET has emailed him. According to one social media user identified as Fredie Mawuli villagetalkativ, Shatta Wale was able to buy 11 local awards (3Music Awards) but he couldn’t purchase a recognized award plaque like the BET.
He wrote;
“U go fit buy 11 local awards but never go fit buy BET Awards common nominations”, he wrote on Facebook.
BET announced the full list of nominees for the 2019 BET Awards and just like it happened in 2018, no Ghanaian artiste made it in their Best International act category.
Unlike previous years, where there was a sole category for African acts, the 2018 BET Awards merged the African Act of the year together with other Best UK Act and that of France.
