Kumasi based sound engineer, graphic designer and musician Rexford Kojo Amoah known as Shatta Rako has hit back at his colleagues who claim being rude is the best way of performing dancehall music.

“Some of our friends are making it look like you have to be rude to be able to do dancehall but that’s not what we represent” he has stated.

The sound engineer made this known in an interview with IB on Hitz FM’s entertainment news when reacting to an allegation made by highlife musician Felix Owusu.

Asked how he saw Ghanaian dancehall and reggae music, Shatta Rako said, “The last time we spoke on the BASS awards they said they didn’t get sponsorship from the corporate community because I think the corporate community sees dancehall artists as some arrogant sort of people.

“What I see is if we don’t take that notion out of peoples' minds, soon we are going to lose grounds because we are not going to get the respect that we deserve,” Shatta Rako stated.
