Media personality Ola Michael has responded to actress Nana Ama McBrown's comments about cooking shows on television in Ghana.

He argued that no one can claim exclusive rights to hosting a cooking show on TV, as the concept has been around for a long time.

He noted that since the first cooking show was broadcast on the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) in 1937, numerous individuals have hosted similar shows globally.

Speaking on Neat FM, Ola suggested that some media figures are upset about the new cooking show to be hosted by gospel artiste Empress Gifty on UTV, fearing it will eclipse their own due to Despite Media's significant influence.

"Since the inception of cooking shows on BBC in 1937, countless such programs have been produced worldwide. The concern is that this show, because of Despite Media's platform, will outshine others, prompting the comment, 'God has indeed blessed you.' It's important to remember that God doesn't bestow blessings on just one individual," he said.

It will be recalled that McBrown, during a phone interview with Medikal on Onua TV, addressed what she perceives as attempts to imitate the success of her cooking show, 'McBrown Kitchen.'

In the conversation, Medikal showed interest in participating in 'McBrown Kitchen' to demonstrate his cooking skills.

McBrown acknowledged others' attempts to be competitive while expressing her belief in God: "While I don't begrudge anyone trying to earn their livelihood, those who are truly blessed by God will always shine."

“We are taking things to another level. I have seen some people busily putting together a cooking show but who God has blessed, he has blessed indeed. Although we all have to eat, those whom God has blessed will shine," she retorted.
