You've to be ‘present’ for your long distance relationships to work – Kwaku T

Long distance relationships are tough no doubt, but with communication and being present as if the relationship is not long distance makes it easier.

This is one of the things to do to make the relationship work, as espoused by award-winning rapper Kwaku Tutu, when he joined the panel of Ghanaweb’s Moans and Cuddles on episode four of the show.

According to Kwaku Tutu, who himself is in a long distance relationship, one of the things that has worked for him is that he sees the relationship as if it is closer to him, and he makes sure he is present whenever the need arises.

“Communication, like being present, I think it is very important to be present and treat it as if the person is there. It is easier now because of social media, WhatsApp and so on, back in the day we were writing letters. Social media has completely removed the distance, but it is important to be present, treat the relationship like it is not a long distance relationship like the person is still there, you are still aware that the person is millions of miles away, but you still feel them as if they are there,” he told host Akosua Konadu Owusu.

He admitted that long distance relationships are difficult, but it is worth it especially when you are with the right person and the love is strong enough.

He advised that people who are in long distance relationships should be open with each other and communicate as much as possible, to make it easier.
