Ghallywood actress Yvonne Nelson shares very infectious smiles and sometimes hearty laughs throughout a lengthy interview session, then suddenly swings mood to a grim-face and snaps: “You can’t be serious! Me? Frustrated? Who told you?”

Clearly the Spectator newspaper had just detonated the single most obvious question any person – be he/she a gossip or fan – would ask her upon any engagement at the moment. The question, simple! “Are you frustrated with the one year ban slapped on you by the film producers?” Hear the pretty actress’ response: Banned! Who told you? As far as I’m concerned, I’ve not been banned.

Nobody has written or communicated anything to me. In normal practice, if you say you’ve banned somebody, then you tell the person. “You don’t leave the person to read it from the news or on facebook. So, as far as I’m concerned, I don’t have any reason to be frustrated, desperate or disappointed. The only thing that I can add is that, I was shocked when I heard it because I’m human.” This is the first time the actress, who recently won the Favourite Actress at the maiden Ghana Movie Awards, has spoken about the ban concurrently slapped on her by the Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG) and their Film Regulatory Council of Ghana (FRCG) over what they branded “rude behavior.”

“In any case, I think it’s only the producers who use me in his films, so what’s the point. I’m not disrespectful and rude as some people say.” Just when many thought the ban would temporarily make her redundant, Yvonne said she had finished shooting a new moved tiled Yvonne’s tears and would go on set to shot another “anytime soon.”

But she also plans to as a matter of immediate consideration star alongside popular actor Kofi Adu (Agya Koo) because “I am always ready to surprise my fans. I’ve said it over and over again that I like him and with time, I‘ve realized language should no longer be a barrier.
