The Public Relations Officer for the Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG), Socrate Sarfo has confirmed to myjoyonline.com Monday that actress Yvonne Nelson’s ban has finally been lifted.

The sexy actress was banned last year by FIPAG over what was alleged to be an accumulation of several incidents of disrespect and rudeness on the part of the actress towards fellow actors/actresses, producers and crew on location. The association said the actress over-stepped her boundaries and was therefore brought to book.

Yvonne Nelson was formally banned by the film producers’ body November last year with a retrospective effect from October 2010 to October 2011. In June this year, Yvonne Nelson was reported to have sent an apology letter to FIPAG asking for the ban to be lifted.

Socrate Sarfo said the decision to finally lift the one year ban on the actress was taken at a meeting of film producers, marketers and distributors, from Accra and Kumasi, in Accra Friday.

He explained that it was agreed at the meeting that she has apologised and shown remorse, and upon consideration, the ban was therefore lifted. “She apologised and the members of FIPAG considered it during the meeting. She conducted herself well during the sidelining; therefore we had to [lift] it” Socrate told Myjoyonline.com.

This puts to rest several speculations that the actress’ ban had earlier been lifted.
