Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah popularly known as Shatta Wale is demanding an apology from Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson.

He explained in an interview with Dr Pounds on the Hitz Gallery show that the actress disrespected his personality at the MTN 4Syte Music Video Awards held over the weekend at the Accra International Conference Centre.

According to Shatta, moments before his performance he left to change costume backstage, where he found Yvonne and comedian Bismark de Joke standing backstage. But when he jokingly asked Bismark why he was standing with his wife, the actress allegedly started yelling at him saying that he allowed his bodyguards to push her while having an interview, creating a scene.

“I went backstage to change to perform where I saw her with Bismark and I jokingly asked Bismark why he was standing with my wife, but she started raising her voice creating unnecessary attention”, he said.

According to the artiste, one of his bodyguards mistakenly pushed Yvonne Nelson who was by then granting an interview to another media house, some few steps from the alternative entrance of the hall.

Shatta claims he tried calming her down to know what really happened “but she kept acting up”.

“I entered the place without seeing anything that happened behind me so I asked her to stop screaming because she is a lady but she kept on yelling, so I eventually got upset due to her attitude”, he added.

“The way she spoke made me believe the things people say about her, she really spoke like a bush girl, she didn’t look like the Yvonne Nelson I knew.

“Probably she was upset because she called me some time ago to play a role in her movie, and I told her to deal with my management”, he stated

The award winning artiste said he respects all actresses in the country and therefore, will not allow Yvonne to tarnish his image.

“I respect all the actresses in Ghana, especially Emelia Brobbey because she acts like a lady even when you see her in life, also Nadia Buari, Jackie Appiah and many others and so I won’t entertain any misbehavior from anyone”, he added.
