Last Friday, a historical occurrence that has not been witnessed before in music circles took place at Busy Internet?s Conference Hall: the launch of a music video.
The company behind such a historic event is Zikhez Company Limited. The launch which was short and to the point had its special guest Honourable Mikki Osei-Berko of Happy FM.
According to the organizers, they took the approach of previewing the video to the press only because they wanted to be different and also open the company and the artist up in the industry for interaction and support.
Introducing the company to the press, Duke Banfo Boadu, talked about the efforts that had gone into forming the company and what they intended to do in the coming years.
Duke who is the producer of the artiste said that the company which is about six months old is out to set new tends in the music, marketing and artiste management industry.
Ricky Owuraku Anokye, the General Manager and Creative Services, Director of Zikhez gave the history behind the formation of the company and said it was born from the need to be a different company, unique among its contemporaries.
Introducing the artiste Marian Afua Nhyira Anquandah (MANA), a pastor with the Word Miracle International Church where she worships, said she was a sensational artiste who has a passion for music and is anointed with a healing touch.
He said through her ministrations in the church and other functions some people had received their healing touch. Three impressive videos from her album were shown and questions and comments were received.
Giving a short speech laced with some humour, Honourable Mikki Ose-Berko commended the organisers for their ingenuity and innovation in respect of the function. According to him, he believes that showbiz is what will generate more revenue in the coming years and that people should invest in it as it is the future of the economy. He cited examples of countries who have benefited from showbiz.
Marian daughter of renowned archaeologist Professor Anquandah has been in the music industry for a while mostly ministering live to her audience. She won the ECRAG award for Gospel Discovery of the year 1993.
Her debut album Aso Noko will be officially launched on February 28, 2004.
