Zylofon Media, a creative arts and entertainment firm, has unveiled actors James Gardener, Benedicta Gafah, Bibi Bright, Toosweet Annan and Zynnell Zuh as its ambassadors in the movie sector.
The five join artistes Kumi Guitar, Becca, Stonebwoy, Joyce Blessing and Obibini who were earlier signed unto the Zylofon Music record label, a division of Zylofon Media.
At a press briefing held at the company’s premises at East Legon in Accra on Friday, June 30, 2017, the Head of Communications for Zylofon Media, Samuel Atuobi Baah said the firm will handle the profession of the five who have been signed for three years each.
“They are going to play the role of ambassadors when it comes to our movies. We will handle their management, give them roles in and outside Ghana. They will be producing Zylofon movies. When we are producing our movies, they are our faces no matter what. We are making sure they are okay as actors at all times,” he said.
Reiterating that the focus of the company is not limited to the music circles but the entire creative arts sector, Mr. Baah noted that it has acquired the franchise for the annual Ghana Movie Awards and it was prudent for the organization to venture into the movie business.
“We have interest in all disciplines of the creative arts. We have an agenda to produce movies. Some people think movies are not selling in Ghana now but I can also tell you that movies are selling. It’s about how you produce it.
“As people who have franchise for a particular award scheme, the best you can do is to contribute to that sector. We cannot run a movie awards when we don’t have anything doing with movies. It is our plan that we put out our own movies on the market,” he said.
