The CEO of Speech Production, Enoch Agyapong is urging persons in the creative arts industry to write proposals and access the Zylofon Arts Fund but said when they have the money they should just spend it.

Zylofon, a media company in Ghana last Friday announced a $1 million Zylofon Arts Fund to enable those in the creative arts industry to get loans for projects they badly needed funds to execute.

Many have applauded Zylofon Media for taking such a bold step to set up the $1 million fund, hoping the fund will revive the deteriorating industry in Ghana.

But Speech Production boss Enoch Agyapong, speaking on Accra-based Onua 95.1 FM entertainment talk show Anigye Mmre, said, “we need to put the industry on a business platform, where people will invest into the industry and know they will get their money back, then we can encourage people to put their money in.

“Management of Zylofon Media know people can’t pay for the loans that’s why they are saying its interest-free, they are sharing the money like bread, take your proposals there, take the money and spend it”.

Enoch Agyapong further stated, “Let’s build the industry to the point that, when you invest your money into it you will get returns.”

Samuel Atuobi Baah who is in charge of communications at Zylofon Media has earlier stated on Onua 95.1 FM that to sustain the Zylofon Arts Fund, subsidiaries under the Zylofon group will contribute 10% of their monthly proceeds to it. He added that Zylofon Media will also organize fundraising activities like concerts to support the fund.
