AMAA Nominations Party brings A-list stars to Accra

The eye of Africa would again be on Ghana as the country celebrates her 53rd Independence anniversary on March 6. However all attention would shift to the Mensvic Grand Hotel, East Legion later in the night as the celebrations is topped with the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) nominations party. The event is expected to be a grand gathering of the best talents and stars in Africa – an African equivalent to the Academy Awards or Oscars of Hollywood.

Event managers of the nominations party, RYTCONCEPT, say the event is gradually taking shape with the confirmation of participation from several big names and stakeholders within the African movie industry. Nollywood’s A-listers confirmed to partake in the grand event would include: Osita Ihemeand chinedu (Aki and Popo), Akintola Abimbola Mary-Anne, Amijo Mofe Richard(RMD), Olu Jacobs, Nuttal-Henshaw Kate, Akume Akume, Afolayan Kunle, Yamahan Portia, Pmewura Enyinnaya Bond, Ireoegbu Dicson Nnamdi, Sam Dede Jacobs Ajoke and Isikaku Emmanuel Odinaka. They will be joined by the finest of stars from Ghallywood.

Other famed movie stars from Kenya, South Africa and Cameroon will also be in town for the event with over 100 media men expected to cover the event. In addition to performances by Nigerian R&B singer J Martins, comic performances and surprise performances from Ghana and other countries, the red carpet is expected to be a spectacle for the piercing lenses of the paparazzi and fans.

The AMAA nominations party would also be attended by dignitaries such as the Governor of the Bayelsa State (home of AMAA), Timepre Sylva, CEO of AMAA, and Peace Anyiam Osigwe.
