Last Friday, Peace Films premiered its first ever ‘English’ movie, ‘The Supremo’, at the Silverbird Cinema.
It was the production house’s first premiere at the Silverbird Cinema and the patronage was encouraging even though fans did not turn out in their numbers as expected.
Over the years, the production house has specialized in producing Akan movies such as ‘Agya Koo 419', ‘Ghana Girls’, ‘Abodam’ and ‘Galamsey’ among other.
The transition into ‘English’ movies however became eminent because of the productions house’s quest to attract a different target audience.
It is however not certain if the other Akan movie producers will take a cue from Peace Films. As to whether they will, definitely depends on the success of ‘The Supremo’.
Directed by a Ghanaian called Asare Bediako, the movie is action packed. It is a tale about Chantel (played by Jackie Appiah), Charles (played by John Dumelo) and Ferdinand (played by Prince David).
Chantel is caught in a love triangle with Charles and Ferdinand, who happens to be the son of a president (played by Zapp Mallet). Charles and Chantel have a healthy and happy relationship.
Through a friend's party, they meet Ferdinand, the president’s son who would stop at nothing to get what he wants.
Even though he knows Charles is already going out with Chantel, he still wants her and he is ready to pay any amount to get her.
With unexpected twists and turns, ‘The Supremo' is without doubt a must- see movie.
It features the crème de la crème of Ghanaian movie stars including John Dumelo, Prince David Osei, Kalsum Sinare, Juliet Ibrahim, George Williams, Roselyn Ngissah, Soraya Mensah, Jackie Appiah, Zapp Mallet and a new face, Too Sweet.?At the premiere on Friday, only a handful of the cast were sighted by BEATWAVES. Among those sighted included John Dumelo, Soraya Mensah, Zapp Mallet, Roslyn Ngissah, and Too Sweet.
Other known faces in the showbiz industry who passed through included Tony Montana, Majid Michel, KOD, Kobi of Rana fame, Kaakyire Kwame Appiah, and Leila Djansi .
