The Ghana Music Awards rolled out the red carpet to honour some of the deserving local musicians. This prestigious award evening was dedicated to the recognition of those whose lives are committed to providing the public with entertainment, either on the stage, or through their published music across all genres.

Anita meets Ange Fadouh the singer (Paris)

Born in Cameroon and raised in the environs of Paris by a family rooted in its traditions, the charismatic Ange Fandoh is the fruit of a tree whose seeds have been sown in African traditions and French culture, and in the influences of American music brought over by the tide. Anita met up with Ange in Paris, to learn more about French music.

Enugu State Festival (Nigeria)

Enugu in Nigeria has just celebrated its centenary – a grand old age! Within those 100 years, the place better known as the Coal city has served as a political capital to several governments. To mark the celebrations, people from all the states got together for a five day cultural fiesta, and the Enugu Queen of the Centenary brought together some of the country’s most impressive, beautiful and interesting women. Studio 53 celebrated with the locals!

Ranx Cameroonian businessman (London)

Fareed was in London recently and got an opportunity to meet with Cameroonian businessman Ranx and his partners. These successful businessmen have created a relaxed and contemporary studio venue in London city centre, a creative environment in which talented individuals can expand their horizons.

Apolline Traore, Burkina Faso based film director (Burkina Faso)

Born in Ouagadougou in 1976, Burkina Faso-based filmmaker Apolline Traore travelled the world with her father, eventually opting to study and work in the US. She learned her craft as a director and screenwriter working on small independent films in LA, before returning home to make films about her home continent. Anita met up with Apolline to find out more about her career in film making.

Over the last few years, rum cocktails, such as the Mojito, have become the drinks to be seen sipping, no matter where in the world you are! It really doesn’t get cooler than catching a caipirinha in the place most readily associated with this extraordinary spirit, Cuba.
