Esther Smith is a name that rings a bell anywhere in the country when it comes to gospel music especially with her second album which is making a strong impact on the gospel music scene.
Her debut album which shot her into instant stardom gained her popular and with this second, there is nowhere she can go but higher and higher. The album is received so much airplay.
She therefore has a special surprise package for all music lovers and her fans. Esther?s Compact Disc (CD), which she would soon outdoor, contains 15 soul-inspiring songs from the two albums she has so far released.
As unique as she has always been in terms of rhythms and lyrics, the latest CD does not only come with songs, but it also includes four jazz tunes from some of the favourite tracks on Esther?s maiden album Gye No Di.
There are also some jazz tracks from her current release Onyame Boafo. The jazz tunes are so scintillating that one is bound to receive a breakthrough when it is played during quiet time and other hours of visitation.
Her Onyame Boafo album is also doing very well on the music market and Esther is hopeful that with God on her side, goodness and mercies shall surely follow her in her music career.
The songs on the CD include, Nsuro, Yesu Ye Ohene, Nipa and Gye No Di. The others are, Onyame Boafo, Mawonsado, Yesu Kristo Asore and some more.
Nsuro has inspiring lyrics, which urges one on even in times of difficulties. Onyame Boafo, which is a slow track with some good instrumentation, makes it a very hot worship song.
The track entitled Nipa has become the most popular on Onyame Boafo and happens to be the favourite of most music lovers. It has a very fine rhythm that suits all occasion.

Born in Suame, a suburb of Kumasi in the early 70s Esther?s dream from infancy was to become a doctor but just as she entered primary school she discovered she had the gift of music and since then she has never looked back.
At 14, she joined the Tanoso Methodist Church Choir and that was when she grew more in music and became matured. After her secondary education, she decided to specialise in Information Technology and so she proceed to the Garden City Computer Training and Typing School and later, the School of Languages all in Kumasi.
In 1990, Esther joined the House of Faith Ministry and after worshipping with the church for about six years, she decided to joined the church choir, Voices of Faith, she also joined the Kapital Radio Choir later.
According to her, she started writing her songs after she had joined the Voices of Faith Choir.
Ironically, the first song she wrote and which she calls Ewurade Wo Din Ho Hyiren is still in her wardrobe even though she believes the song, when released, would make a very big impact on the lives of listeners.
Notwithstanding the difficulties she went through in her quest to release her maiden album, Gye No Di, Esther finally had support from Ankobea Music Production after six years in the wilderness searching for a producer.
She says Gye No Di; the title of the maiden album explains the difficulties and hardship she went through before the album was released.
Esther says it sold so fast that she still cannot believe it, however, she admits, the album was a success because it achieved its objective of changing people?s lives for the better.
It is, therefore, not surprising that she managed to sweep three awards at last year?s Ghana Music Awards. These are Gospel Album of the Year, Gospel Artiste of the Year and the Best Female Vocal Performance of the Year.
Esther says her Pastors, Rev. Kwame Asare and Rev Anim, all of the House of Faith Ministry and also Osofo Antwi of the Church of God all in Kumasi, inspire her.
She is currently a Co-director of the Esther Smith Printing Press and Music Production in Kumasi. Esther is single and she enjoys taking plantain with garden eggs stew. During her leisure hours she prefers listening to foreign gospel music.
