Tic Tac A Ghanaian musician, Kweku Dua, popularly known as Tic Tac, a hiplife artiste is to embark on a fundraising musical show for Ghana's contingent for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece.
The show "Ghana for Gold-Athens 2004" is being organised by the Goodies Music Promotions in collaboration with the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) as part of their fund raising activities towards the Games.
The event, which is scheduled for the National Theatre, is also to be used by Tic Tac to launch his new album titled "Wope".
Other hiplife artistes such as VIP, Antwi 'n' Antwi, Sidney, Tiny, "Abrewa Nana" and Batman are among others expected to perform at the show.
Speaking at the launching of the event, Tic Tac said the time had come for musicians to join hands to raise the standard of sports in the country.
He said "this is an opportunity to make our sports men and women proud by raising the needed funds for them in other to put up their best performance at the Games."
Mr Benson Tongo Baba, Chairman of GOC said the Committee had reached an important stage of its fund raising activities and will need the total support of all to achieve the needed success.
He said raising adequate funds for the Olympic team would boost the morale of the athletes to win medals for Ghana. "Ghana has never won a gold medal at the Olympic Games and this is the time for us to achieve this dream."
The GOC Chairman said about 50 to 60 per cent of the proceeds from the show will go into the support of the Olympic team and called on Ghanaians to patronise the show.
Mr Mawuli Okudzetu, a Ghanaian fashion designer also pledged to clothe Ghana's contingent with his company's label worth 150,000 dollars.
He said the clothes would be designed to portray Ghanaian culture, an offer, which he said "is the beginning of good things to happen."

The Chairman said the Committee would be tasked do a thorough examination of the supporters expected to travel with the Ghanaian contingent to the month-long fiesta that commences in August.
Mr Baba told the GNA Sports in Accra on Wednesday that the decision is aimed at selecting faithful and law-abiding supporters capable of lifting the flag of Ghana high during the Games.
He said the primary objective of the move is to make sure selected supporters will have no reason to escape after the competition as has been the case in recent times.
The GOC according to him is working closely with Mr Abraham Boakye, popularly known a "One Man Supporter" and Dosca Travel and Tours to ensure that the right supporters are selected for the Athens Games.
He said the GOC and its partners are currently embarking on serious investigations that will provide detailed information on each applicant in their quest to guarantee their return without future embarrassment to the country.
Dosca Tours and Mr Boakye according to Mr Baba have been tasked to make the necessary flight, accommodations and ticketing bookings as part of the measure to ensure the comfort of the contingent and to give the athletes and sportsmen and women the moral support throughout the Games.
The GOC Chairman advised interested supporters to be cooperative during the vetting exercise for "We will not tolerate any unpleasant embarrassment from any group or persons".
