Gospel artistes may come up everyday but new entrant, Takoradi-based Ernestina Koney is poised to make a mark because she believes this is the time that the Heavenly Father has given her to shine.

?Today maybe for one person, tomorrow will be another?s, the competition may be keen but God has a purpose for everyone,? were the words of the confident artiste who does not only sing but also freely quotes scriptures.

Her debut album tilted ?Me Si Wo Hen? has ten songs on CD and eight on cassettes. Ernestina does Side in English and leaves all the Fanti songs including the title track for the flip side except for ?Osor Ntokura? which ends Side A.

Some of the songs are ?Jehovah Jireh?, the opener, ?Train My Soul? and ?Magnify?. Others are ?Me Nyame?, ?Ebesi Me Yie? and ?Jesus Me Gyefo?.

Ernestina says she takes great inspiration from gospel songstress, Amy Newman, who has numerous admirers and never fails her audience wherever she performs. Honestly, the first time I heard Amy sing, I said to myself ?I want to be like this woman?.

Little wonder she sounds much like Amy in a good number of the songs; confusing gospel music enthusiasts initially that the album was Amy?s.

Like Amy, Ernestina worships at Latter Rain Family Chapel International at Anaji in Takoradi and says it is her hope that all will be drawn to the Maker through song ministration and the Word.
