Tue, 17 May 2005 Source: ghanamusic.com

Hip-hop OuterNational has kicked off as the first group of artistes arrived at Kotoka Airport late Saturday night.? The project, which aims to promote hip-hop collaborations between German, French, and Ghanaian artistes, has begun with the first meeting of the minds in Kokrobitey.? Already new music and ideas are coming to the surface, as the artistes commence work on various collaborative projects. ?

Sunday morning, the French faction Fu Infanterie, along with Germany’s DJ Terror, emerged from their hotel rooms to meet with a few of the Ghanaian artistes who will participate in the weeklong series of collaborations, discussions, and performances.? A diverse group was quickly shaping up as Ronnie of Buk Bak, King Aisoba the kologo specialist, Jahwi of Seprewa fame and a few others met for breakfast and introductions.

The group then headed off to the beachside seclusion of the Kobrobitey Institute to start their work together.? For these established European artistes, the experience of coming to Ghana for the first time is humbling and exciting. ?

None of them know quite what to expect but already the combination of talent is starting to show signs of serious potential.
