Lovely Sisters and Golden Road have emerged winners when votes by SMS were collated after six gospel pop stars performed on Metro TV a fortnight ago.

The two now stand by for the final showdown which will come off after other gospel contenders are also given the opportunity to hit the screen. So far a total of 1, 898 SMS texts have been received.

Meanwhile, six Afro Pop die-hards also slugged it out last Saturday on Metro TV. They are Omankrado, Death Squad, Plus C, Ediyesem, Pip Soldier and Two white. Their hiplife performances were watched internationally via satellite.

This Saturday at 12:00 midday is highlife time on the Bibini-Metro show hosted by Anita Owusu, a personality who knows how to prop a programme to explosive end.

A super-traditional singer from the north, Hamida Damba, will be on screen. Also on the bill are sensational Daddy Rasco, Steven Stone (who pulls cart with his teeth), Freaky Kelly and Papa Nii, an over 60-year old performer who has ambitions of becoming a highlife superstar.

Last but not the least to feature in the highlife segment is OP who thrives on the quality of his voice.

Meanwhile, ace sound engineer and top keyboardist, Jerry Boansi, partnering Bassam Helwani to keep the Bibini Studio busy. Faith Dikerson, a sleek and beautiful R&B singer is being recorded. The producer is Faisal Helwani.

A host of stars are being discovered in the Afro Pop talent Hunt with respect to all the musical genres. The gospel discoveries so far top the list of the new stars, followed by hiplife, reggae, raga and traditional music.

The highly successful hunt is the first in the series being organised to help talented musicians who have no chance whatever of being recognized for their God-given talents.
